History of the Land

The Pfeffer Family

The Pfeffer family warmly welcomes you to Lakeview, a testament to a legacy dating back to 1949.

The roots of this heritage trace back over a century when Adolph L. Pfeffer mastered the rice milling trade in Beaumont, Texas, eventually establishing the Adolph Lawrence Pfeffer Rice Mill. His son, Adolph A. Pfeffer Sr., continued the tradition with the Adolphus Rice Mill, and later the Pfeffer and Son Rice Mill in Houston Texas.

In 1949, Adolph Sr. and a young Adolph Jr. purchased part of the current Lakeview Community land to grow rice, laying the foundation for a diverse farming operation that has spanned generations.

Over the decades, the farm, managed by Adolph Jr. (Bubba) and later his grandsons Kirk and Blake, expanded its scope and included rice, corn, soybeans, cotton, peanuts, and watermelons, and cattle. Over the decades they co-owned the Waller Rice Drier, introduced the concept of grazing fallow rice fields in off years and first brought Coastal Bermuda grass to Waller County.

The Pfeffer family has long valued their strong community ties in Waller County with residents whose names are memorialized in the street names for miles around. Adolph Sr. even built an airfield on the farm for his Beechcraft planes, which he used to oversee rice farming in Cuba until the Communist revolution.

Today

Today, Lakeview Development in Waller, TX stands as a premier upscale community, maintaining its country charm with large lots and open vistas. The Pfeffer family invites you to join them in preserving their rich history while building a promising future.
